Pinkerton Players present the holiday classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” on stage at the Stockbridge Theatre at Pinkerton Academy Nov. 14-16 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. Call the theater box office for tickets at 437-5210.

CERT seeksnew volunteers

Derry’s certified emergency response team group, CERT, seeks people to volunteer. There are about 13 active members who handle anything during a disaster, including traffic control or shelter services. Call 432-6751 or email to derryeoc@derryny.org.

Free community meals set

The Community Meals Network continues its mission to provide free meals to the region. The next meals are scheduled for Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 63 East Broadway; Nov. 17, breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. at Church of the Transfiguration, Hood Road; and Nov. 17, lunch at noon at Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Hall hosts annual meeting Nov. 17

The Upper Village Hall hosts its annual meeting Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. at the East Derry hall, 52 East Derry Road. A short business meeting will be followed by a presentation on the hall’s updates and progress. All are welcome.

Taylor Library hosts Minecraft event

Taylor Library hosts a monthly event for youth ages 8 to 16 featuring the computer game Minecraft. Students can stop by and learn all about playing the game. The next meeting is Nov. 21 from 4 to 5 p.m. Call the library at 432-7186.

Attend Affordable Care Act session

Derry Public Library hosts the next in its series of information sessions on the Affordable Care Act with “The Affordable Care Act for Small Business: It’s Decision Time.” The event will be Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Hugh Curley, economic development specialist from the New Hampshire office of the U.S. Small Business Administration, will provide information on the ACA with specific emphasis on provisions that will impact decisions by small businesses.

Garden club hosts ‘greens’ workshop

Derry Garden Club presents its annual greens workshop during its meeting Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry, 40 Hampstead Road. Members and guests are invited to bring greens to create arrangements for the holidays.

Town offices will be closed

The Derry municipal center and Veterans Hall will be closed Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the 15th annual employee recognition event at First Parish Church in East Derry.
