DERRY — The Salvation Army hosted its second Chili/Chowder Cook-Off on June 25.
Ten area restaurants and individuals came to MacGregor Park to serve up their entries.
Awards given out included people's choice awards. A panel of three judges awarded top prizes for the tastiest chili and chowder.
The Stumble Inn in North Londonderry, The Lunch Box in Manchester and the Lobster Tail in Windham all earned top awards from both the crowd and the judges.
Judges were Alan Cote, Derry's director of operations, Kimberly Pietz of Derry's cable television and Salvation Army supporter Jim Stranieri.
Salvation Army officer Lt. Kiley Williams said the day turned out well, with all proceeds and donations set to support the Army's summer camp for children programs.
