Lights, cameras, action Dec. 7

A tree lighting and visit with Santa Claus are set for Dec. 7 at Burlington Self-Storage, 4 Linlew Drive. The event is free and open to the public.

Santa visits from 3 to 6 p.m. and the tree lighting is at 6:30 p.m. There will be photos, treats and cocoa, Toys for Tots drive and a nonperishable food drive to benefit the Sonshine Soup Kitchen. For information, call the Chamber at 432-8205.

Girls in grades K-12 are invited to learn more about getting involved in Girl Scouts. There are many programs for girls and for adults to lead or volunteer.

Twirling in the holidays

The Red Star Twirlers are ready for the holidays and will be twirling this season for a good cause. The local baton group will present its annual holiday show, “Bells for Christmas Present,” on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Derry Opera House on West Broadway.

The show is for all ages; tickets are $5. Tickets are on sale at Veterans Hall, 31 West Broadway on Tuesday and Thursday evenings; at Halligan Tavern; or 30 minutes before showtime on Dec. 14.
