DERRY — The town has many openings on boards and committees. Residents who might want to serve the community don’t have a lot of time to apply for the job.
Right now, many groups seek new members to sign up for various lengths of service.
At a recent Town Council meeting, Chairman Michael Fairbanks urged those who may be interested to contact the town and fill out an application.
The Town Council will consider the candidates and fill the positions after the application deadline date of March 24.
The following open positions and term lengths are as follows:
Conservation Commission, two members, expires 2017; Highway Safety Committee, six members, expires 2015; Heritage Commission, two regular members, one alternate, expires 2017; Housing and Redevelopment Authority, one member, expiries 2019; Planning Board, two regular members, one alternate, expires 2017; Zoning Board, two members, one alternate, expires 2017; one alternate expires 2015, one alternate expires 2016; Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission, one alternate member, term expires 2016; Energy Environmental Advisory Committee, two regular members, terms expire 2017, one regular member term expires 2016.
