Woman cited after hitting cruiser

Derry News

---- — TILTON — A Derry woman was cited for negligent operation after she struck a N.H. State Police cruiser Saturday afternoon.

Kim Gullage, 47, was driving a 2001 Ford Expedition when she struck a state police cruiser on the Exit 20 off-ramp on Interstate 93 north just past noon, police said.

The trooper, in his cruiser at the time, was taken to Franklin Regional Hospital, treated and released.

Gullage was not injured.

The cruiser side and rear emergency lights were activated at the time of the crash, police said. He was protecting a crash scene while a tow truck removed a vehicle from a snowbank.

Gullage told police she saw the cruiser and applied her brakes. But she lost control of her vehicle and struck the rear of the NHSP Dodge Charger, pushing it about 20 feet. There was significant damage to the cruiser, according to NHSP.

Police said Gullage was driving too fast for road conditions.

The off-ramp was closed for approximately 45 minutes.
