Derry News honored by NHPA
BEDFORD — The staff of the Derry News took home six awards at the recent New Hampshire Press Association Awards dinner at Manchester Country Club.
Topping the list of award recipients was staff writer Suzanne Laurent, who garnered first place honors in the General News category for weeklies for her story on a Londonderry family picking up the pieces of their lives after a devastating fire.
The Derry News Web site, www.derrynews.com, was named the best Web site in the state among weeklies and was named third best overall.
As a staff, the Derry News placed third in the General Excellence category and third for Best News Supplement.
Staff photographer Jan Seeger placed second in the News Photo category, while Ryan Lambert placed third in the Sports Feature category.
