Derry Garden Club to meet May 3

The Derry Garden Club meets on May 3 at 11:30 a.m. at Promises to Keep, Route 28. The new slate of officers for next year will be installed. For information about the club call 434-0578.

Family Promise will benefit

Let’s Play Music faculty is spotlighted in a free benefit concert to support Family Promise of Greater Rockingham County on May 10 at 7 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Road.

Family Promise is a network of congregations and other organizations providing shelter, food and other support services to homeless families.

A silent auction and a free will offering will be collected.

Comedy fundraiser planned May 2

A fundraiser featuring comic Dave Russon and other comedians is scheduled for May 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Stockbridge Theatre at Pinkerton Academy.

The night is a fundraiser to benefit the Donnie Arsenault Help Fund. The Derry teen is battling cancer. Tickets are $20 per person and are available by calling 548-0493.

Library hosts monthly Genealogy Roundtable

The monthly meeting of the Genealogy Roundtable is May 7 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at Derry Public Library, lower level meeting room.

The meeting is informal and allows members to discuss their research.

All are welcome regardless of level of genealogy experience.

Buy tickets for Taste of the Town

The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce hosts its “Taste of the Town” May 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire, 27 Navigator Road, Londonderry.

Tickets are on sale at $30 per person at the Chamber office, 29 West Broadway, or by calling 432-8205.

Derry seniors to enjoy luau

Derry senior citizens will enjoy a Hawaiian luau event on May 22 from noon to 2 p.m. at Alexander-Carr Park off Pierce Avenue. The day includes music, food and the park will be transformed into a tropical paradise.

Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share. Register by calling Derry Parks and Recreation at 432-6136. Tickets are limited and a ticket is required to attend, but event is free.
