DERRY — Jasmine Cuenca knows her words.
The Gilbert H. Hood Middle School seventh-grader took repeat honors on Jan. 26 and was once again crowned the school's spelling bee champion.
Jasmine won the school's competition last year, too.
She is now eligible to move forward to another level of spelling competition set for later this spring.
Last year, Jasmine went on to win the Derry/Salem Elks Spelling Bee, representing her school and beating out dozens of top spellers from around the region.
