---- — DERRY — Pinkerton Academy students have a lot of skill.

For students participating in the school’s long list of Career and Technical Education courses, taking those skills and competing against others is a bonus.

Pinkerton once again had a strong contingent in the New Hampshire state SkillsUSA competition, sending 44 students to compete in categories including Culinary Hot Foods, Customer Service, Job Interviews, TV/Video, Commercial Baking and Tech Computer Applications.

Pinkerton students also competed in Cabinet Making, Carpentry, Industrical Motor Controls, Prepared Speech, Residential Wiring, Welding, Computer Maintenance, Power Equipment Technology, Internetworking and Telecommunications Cabling.

The state competition ran March 15-22 and all winners of individual categories were to be announced this week.

The SkillsUSA students work under the guidance of Building Construction/Technology teacher David Howes and co-advisors Mike and Sarah Eno.
