Derry Parks and Recreation sponsors a Collette Vacations trip to Ireland in October.
The tour departs from Logan Airport in Boston for a 10-day trip featuring tours of Dublin, Waterford, Killarney and Limerick, with other stops along the way at Blarney Castle and the Cliffs of Moher.
The trip includes round-trip air fare, five dinners and plenty of leisure time. The tour is Oct. 13 to 22.

Rotary clubs host comedy night
The Derry Rotary and Derry Village Rotary clubs host their annual fundraising event “The Best of North Shore Comedy” with featured comic hypnotist Frank Santos Jr. April 6.
Doors open at 7 p.m. for a silent auction with the comedy show set to start at 8 p.m. Auction items include donations from local businesses, gift certificates, food, Red Sox tickets and much more.

Derry Garden Club meets April 5
The Derry Garden Club meets April 5 at 10 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry.
The program is “Floral Designs” featuring Linda Pare, designer and member of the American Floral Institute of Floral Designers.

Rabies vaccination clinic set March 30
The town of Derry, along with Parks and Recreation, town clerk’s office, Friends of the Derry Dog Park and Handel With Care veterinary clinic, host a rabies/vaccination clinic on March 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Alexander-Carr Park Lodge on Pierce Avenue.
Vaccinations cost $15 per animal; owners must bring previous rabies certificate. All dogs must be leashed and cats must be in carriers.
The annual clinic supports the continuing improvements at the Derry Dog Park.
Licensing is also available during the clinic for Derry residents. The fee for dogs is $7.50 for neutered/spayed and $10 for non-neutered/spayed. Seniors can license their first dog for $3.

Take in the Big Apple Circus
Derry Parks and Recreation hosts a trip to see the Big Apple Circus in Boston on April 25. Following the show, guests can travel to the Prudential Center for shopping, dining and other activities.
The registration fee for Derry residents is $20, $30 for nonresidents. Call 432-6136 for information.
Seniors invited to prom April 14
Local seniors are invited to the annual Senior Citziens Prom set for April 14 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Pinkerton Academy senior cafeteria in the school’s Fine Arts Building.
The day includes food, dancing and socializing with friends. Doors open at 11:45 a.m.
Admission is free, but limited to adults 50 years of age and older. Tickets are required for the prom and are available through the Parks and Recreation office. The prom is hosted by the Pinkerton Academy Class of 2015 and Parks and Recreation. Call 432-6136 for information.
Driver safety course offered
An AARP driver safety course is offered April 10 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day at the Nutfield Medical Building, 44 Birch St. The course is open to all ages, but is geared mostly to older drivers.
The class includes information on defensive driving techniques and age-related changes to vision, hearing, reaction time and more. Other topics to be covered include anti-lock brakes, air bags and safety belts. The course is a combination of class discussion and videos.
There are no tests. Some insurance companies may offer discounts for taking the course. The fee is $14 and $12 for AARP members. To register, call 1-877-642-2362.
