DERRY — An 18-year-old Derry teen was arrested on drug charges at Pinkerton Academy Monday morning after a school administrator said he saw a bag of marijuana fall out of the student's pocket.

Nicholas Colella, of 2 Cross Road, was charged with possession of drugs with the intent to distribute and is being held on $25,000 cash bail at county jail after his arraignment in Derry District Court.

According to police Capt. Vernon Thomas, Colella was speaking with an administrator at the school when a bag of marijuana fell out of his pocket. School officials then found multiple bags of marijuana in Colella's possession before he was turned over to the school resource officer at 7:30 a.m., Thomas said.

Colella was originally held on $2,000 cash bail but that was increased to $25,000 cash after his arraignment on Monday morning.
