LONDONDERRY — A four-car crash on Interstate 93 closed the northbound lane on Wednesday morning just before noon.

Three people were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released, according to Capt. James Roger of the Londonderry Fire Department.

Gemara Maldonado, 52, of Methuen, Mass., slowed his 1999 Chevrolet Blazer in heavy traffic near Exit 5 around 11:15 on Wednesday and was struck in the back by a 2005 black Hummer driven by 38-year-old Cheryl O'Neill of Harwich, Mass., according to a police press release.

Maldonado's SUV then crossed the left lane of traffic and rolled onto its roof and was struck by a 2005 red Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Alfred Laurent Jr., 48, of Manchester.

O'Neill's Hummer was struck by a 2006 blue Chevrolet Express Van driven by Donald Bryson, 48, of Derry.

Maldonado, O'Neill and a passenger in O'Neill's vehicle received minor injuries.

Maldonado was trapped in her car but was extricated within 15 minutes, according to Roger.

Speed and alcohol did not contribute to the accident, authorities said.

State Police Trooper Sean Harrington is investigating the crash. Anyone with information should contact the New Hampshire State Police at 672-3333.
