The "Christmas in the Village" fair will be held Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chester Congregational Baptist Church. The event will be held in the church vestry. The fair offers handmade crafts, unique holiday decor, gifts, and a bake shop. There will also be live music, Tiffany's at Chester, and wassail.

A Loaf and Ladle lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stevens Memorial Hall. For information, call the church office at 887-4799. The church is located in the center of Chester.

Shannon Cleaves and Daniel Gendreau

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Cleaves of East Hampstead announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Cleaves, to Daniel Gendreau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Gendreau of East Hampstead.
Miss Cleaves graduated from Pinkerton Academy and from Keene State College.

William and Marie Brander

William "Bill" and Marie Brander of Chester will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary at a family gathering at home
They met in New York City in 1942 at Bell Telephone Labs. They married May 29, 1945, in Key West, Fla., where Mr. Brander, a Tech 5 in the Army, was stationed at the time.
