Air Force Reserve Airman Corissa L. Gecks graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

She is the daughter of David Gecks of Derry.

Gecks is a 2010 graduate of John Stark Regional High School in Weare.

Army Pfc. Adam J. Smigielski has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

He is the son of Lisa Smigielski of Lynn, Mass., and Mark Smigielski of Chester.

Smigielski is a 2009 graduate of Lynn Classical High School.

Army Reserve Sgt. Terry-Lyn Monfet has been mobilized and activated at Fort Dix, N.J., in preparation for deployment to serve in support of either Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom. The soldier is a member of the 94th Military Police Company, Londonderry.

The soldiers are normally activated from Army Reserve or Army National Guard units from throughout the U.S. They go through a series of in-processing procedures and training classes that prepare them for skills and situations they may face in their deployed environment.

Monfet, a military police member, has served in the military for seven years.

She is the daughter of Patricia Wheeler of Sandown.

Her husband, Christian, is the son of Leo and Linda Monfet of Lawrence, Mass.

The sergeant received a bachelor's degree in 2009 from Hesser College in Manchester.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Thomas J. Moore graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Moore earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Mary Moore of Salem.

Moore is a 2003 graduate of Pinkerton Academy.

Army Pvt. Justin M. Jarvis has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

Jarvis is a 2004 graduate of Pinkerton Academy.

Army National Guard Sgt. John P. Morrissette is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively.

The soldiers return to Fort Dix, N.J. for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units.

Morrissette, a military police member, is a member of the 211th Military Police Battalion, Lexington, Mass.

He is the son of Ed and Ann Duckless of Tsienneto Road, Derry.

His wife, Marcy, is the daughter of James and Laura Stacy of Cottage Lane, East Templeton, Mass.

In 1999, Morrissette graduated from Pinkerton Academy, Derry.
