Chester Preschool and Kindergarten holds graduation ceremony
Chester Preschool and Kindergarten celebrated its annual graduation ceremony on June 2 at Stevens Memorial Hall. A total of 12 children completed a successful year in the school's preschool programs. The ceremony included songs, artwork, and a special slide show to honor the upcoming retirement of longtime Chester Preschool teacher Charlotte Hogan. Hogan spent decades working in the Chester school, alongside school owner and teacher Barbara Stein. Stein said her friend Hogan was her right-hand support system and gave many years to the education of Chester's children.
The Rockingham Herb Society hosts its annual plant sale on June 6 from 9 a.m to noon in front of Stevens Memorial Hall in downtown Chester. The society has spent years growing plants to sell at its sale. Herbs, annuals, and other seasonal florals will be for sale. All are invited to stop by and purchase some new plantings for the 2009 season.
