CHESTER — Chester College of New England celebrated its 41st Commencement ceremony on Saturday in the Stockbridge Theatre on the campus of Pinkerton Academy in Derry.
This year, 33 students received Bachelor of Arts degrees.
The Honorable Walter R. Petersen, Jr., Governor of New Hampshire from 1969 to 1973 and President of Franklin Pierce University from 1975 to1995, served as the guest speaker. Gov. Petersen was also the college's first commencement speaker in 1969 when the college was known as White PInes College.
Krystle Emelie Belanger, a photography, media arts major from Derry, gave the valedictorian address.
Laura Ives, dean of the College served as Grand Marshal, with Dr. Byron Petrakis, dean of students, serving as the College Marshal. President Robert Baines and the chair of the Board of Trustees, James Bennett presented the diplomas.
