CHESTER — The Police Department is getting a new look.
The department is getting two new vehicles to add to its police fleet — a Ford Expedition and a Crown Victoria cruiser — which will update or replace aging vehicles on the force.
Chester voters approved two warrant articles at the annual Town Meeting in May to purchase the Expedition at a cost of $37,853 and the car at $33,483. At that time, police officials told voters the current police fleet had four vehicles in service, several with rising mileage and repairs needed.
Police Chief William Burke said the Expedition is already here, and the cruiser is expected in the next several weeks. The colors will be black and white, Burke said.
"It's a whole new look," he said.
