CHESTER — Anyone hoping to enter the election season and win spots on town or school district boards and committees can file nomination papers for office beginning today (March 26).
The filing period in town runs through April 4 at 3 p.m.
The following list of positions is up for election this year. Incumbents are also listed:
Selectman — Two three-year positions. Steph Landau and Mike Weider, incumbents.
Budget Committee — Three three-year positions. Tom LaPorte, Colin Costine and RIchard Bellemore, incumbents.
Town Clerk/Tax Collector — One position for one-year term. Barbara Gagnon, incumbent.
Treasurer — One three-year term. Don Parnell, incumbent.
Town Moderator — One two-year position. Michael Scott, incumbent.
Supervisors of the Checklist — One six-year position. Carl Knudsen, incumbent.
Library Trustees — Two three-year positions. Kandace Knowlton and Debra Munson, incumbents.
Great Hill Cemetery Trustee — One five-year term. James Barker, incumbent.
Wilcomb Townsend Trustee — One five-year term. Cynthia Tunberg, incumbent.
On the school side, open elected positions available this year include: School Board — One two-year term and two three-year term; School District Clerk, one-year term; School District Moderator, one-year term; and School District Treasurer, one-year term.

Election day in Chester is Tuesday, May 13, and voting takes place at the town multipurpose room from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The annual Town Meeting is held May 14 at 7 p.m., also in the multipurpose room.
