Yoga and meditation class offered in Derry
DERRY — Parkland Oncology is hosting a gentle yoga and meditation class, beginning Aug. 4, for six consecutive Wednesdays from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. at 6 Tsienneto Road, Suite 101, Derry.
Mats will be provided. Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing.
Yoga will be instructed by Connie Price, certified YogaFit instructor.

Stroke awareness clinic scheduled in Derry
DERRY — In celebration of Social Wellness Month, Workout Club & Wellness Center and the Healthways SilverSneakers Fitness Program will offer a stroke awareness clinic on July 30.
The event is from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at 35 Manchester Road. Guest speaker Claudia FitzGerald, stroke coordinator for the Lahey Clinic, will discuss stroke risk factors and how to recognize the signs of a stroke The event is open to the public.
Social Wellness Month encourages people to improve their social skills, exploring everything positive and helpful about communication and interacting with others.
The Workout Club & Wellness Center provides resources to older adults and makes SilverSneakers classes available to its members on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:40 to 11:40 a.m.
