Kids Coop Theatre to stage 'Annie' in Derry

'Annie' comes to life at the Derry Opera House

DERRY — The life of a popular comic strip heroine comes to life on the Derry Opera House stage next month as Kids Coop Theatre gets ready to perform the musical “Annie.”

The shows are set for Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 9 at 1 and 7 p.m. at the Opera House, 29 West Broadway, Derry.

The “Annie” cast includes 45 youth actors, ranging in age from 8 to 18, who will bring the story of Little Orphan Annie to life.

The cast comes from towns all over the Greater Derry and surrounding regions. Popular show songs include “Tomorrow,” and “It’s a Hard Knock Life.”

Kids Coop Theatre welcomes back David Ducharme as director and Donna Tongue as music director. Making her debut as choreographer is Londonderry High School junior Megan Reid.

The show even features a real dog taking the role as Annie’s faithful friend Sandy. MiniMe, a 2-year-old adopted poodle mix, will play the role for the third time. MiniMe is also a certified therapy dog and hospice volunteer.

During the performances, money will be raised to support the Nevins Farm MSPCA on MiniMe’s behalf.

Tickets for “Annie” are $12 and available at
