DERRY — A long tradition of joining together in song continues this fall as the Interfaith Choir begins its 48th season.
The choir holds its first rehearsal on Sept. 9 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 63 East Broadway.
New singers are welcome to attend.
Membership is free and there is no audition required to join. The group is open to anyone high school age and older who loves to sing.
The group began nearly five decades ago and joined various choir members from local churches to sing at a community Thanksgiving gathering.
The choir decided to continue to sing together and years later is still going strong. The choir performs several times a year in December and April at churches and other locations in the Greater Derry area.
Rehearsals are held every Sunday, September through April. Prior choir experience is not necessary to join.
