DERRY — A classic tale of princesses, sleep deprivation and happy endings is in store for audiences attending the upcoming performances of Pinkerton Players’ “Once Upon A Mattress.”
The spring musical is presented March 21-23 at 7 p.m. and again on March 24 at 2 p.m. at Pinkerton’s Stockbridge Theatre.
The show is a spin on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.” It is a musical romp into the life of Princess Winnifred and her quest to prove she is a real princess to her Prince Dauntless the Drab.
Taking the lead role of Princess Winnifred is Chester senior Jesse Harte, playing to prince Matthew McGinnis, a Derry junior.
Also in lead roles are Derry junior Colin Coviello as Sir Harry; Christopher Komisarek, a Chester sophomore, playing the minstrel; and Mariah Larocque as the maniacal queen.
Tickets are $11 and are available through the Stockbridge box office, by visiting stockbridgetheatre.com or by calling 437-5210.
