Derry Public Library hosts Fairy Festival

DERRY — It’s always a good time to learn about fairies.

As Derry Public Library got read last week for its Fairy Festival, patrons and families were helping collect special items that would make a perfect fairy house.

A corner of the library lobby was full of twigs, moss, sticks, milkwood, driftwood and other items that would make a perfect fairy home.

The Fairy Festival was held May 11 at the library. From sparkly wings to glittery tiaras, children and their families came to the library for a day of fairy stories, games, dances and a costume contest.

The library has hosted fairy events for several years, mainly during the month of May.
