West Running Brook presents 'Annie Jr'

---- — DERRY — The adventures of Little Orphan Annie, Daddy Warbucks and faithful companion Sandy come to life as West Running Brook Middle School’s Drama Club and Stage Bears Productions present “Annie Jr.”

The play will be presented Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. and again Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. at Pinkerton Academy’s Stockbridge Theatre.

The cast is made up of dozens of students taking on the roles of orphans, Annie’s friends, villains, and the wealthy who want to adopt Annie and give her a good home.

The lead role of Annie is played by seventh-grader Sara Chemi, who said playing the famed young heroine is a dream come true.

“I’ve loved ‘Annie’ ever since I saw it (on stage),” she said. “My dream is to someday be on Broadway.”

Other lead roles are Liam Humel playing Daddy Warbucks, Amara Phelps as Miss Hannigan and Aleksei Larrentyer as the villain Rooster.

Songs include the popular “Tomorrow,” “Maybe” and “It’s A Hard Knock Life.”

Tickets for “Annie Jr.” are available at the door on show days, through the West Running Brook school office or through the Stockbridge Theatre box office.
