Mr. LHS contest puts students in the spotlight

Eleven vie for Mr. LHS crown

LONDONDERRY — They took to the catwalk and performed their best.

The seventh annual Mr. LHS competition was held at the high school April 18. Eleven talented male students took to the stage to sing, dance and perform in an effort to win the judges’ votes.

The talent show is sponsored by the Lancer Spirit, Londonderry High School’s student newspaper. This year’s contestants were Charles Russek, Driss Dallahi, Ethan Doherty, Jed Sweetman, John Dunn, Kyle Maley, Zach Joy, Josh Leahy, Nathan Mackay-Wright, Keegan Smith and Matt Cooper.

The contestants sold raffle tickets for gift cards to local businesses. Whichever contestant sold the most tickets had five points added to his score on show night.

Talent included Irish step dancing, singing, dancing and other antics on stage.

Contestants were judged by a panel of teachers Michelle Sharp, Scott Milne, Michelle Dyson, along with Gerry Gulezian and last year’s Mr. LHS winner, Jake Renke.

In the end, Cooper was crowned Mr. LHS for 2013.
