AARP Driver Safety Class, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Birch Heights Retirement Center, 7 Kendall Road, Derry. Class will be two sessions.The class includes information on defensive driving techniques and age related changes to vision,hearing,reaction time and much more.Other topics covered are anti lock brakes,air bags and safety belts.The course is a combination of class discussion and videos. Several insurance companies that do business in N.H. offer discounts after taking this class.Class is open to any age driver but is geared to people over 50.Course fee is $14 and $12 for AARP members. Londonderry Access Center Beginner Summer Media Camp, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Open to children entering grades five to eight, in the fall. Londonderry Leach Library partners with nhsaves, to offer a new service that will help educate consumers on electricity use. Beginning immediately, we will be circulating a CUT the CARBON! kit, which includes a Kill a Watt Meter, energy tips brochure, bookmark, instruction sheet and a survey postcard. Check out the kit for a two-week period and plug in your appliances one at a time to see how much energy they use and help reduce your carbon footprint.

The Cooperative Alliance for Regional Transportation, known as CART, is a curb-to-curb transportation system serving the communities of Chester, Danville, Derry, Londonderry, Plaistow, Salem, Windham and Hampstead for those needing a ride for medical visits, shopping or social visits. CART services are available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $2 per one-way ride. Reservations can be made during regular business hours by calling 434-3569. Reservations must be made several days in advance, but no more than 14 days in advance.
