Blue Christmas service offers help

LONDONDERRY — Christmas is not a joyous time for everyone. It can be a lonely, depressing time due to loss of a job, loved one, relationship or health.

Londonderry United Methodist Church, 258 Mammoth Road, hosts a Blue Christmas service on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. The service offers a time to acknowledge sadness or concerns during the Advent season and offers a time for support.

During the service, four white candles will be lighted, representing grief, courage, memories and love. The congregation is then welcome to come forward to light a candle for their own concerns and wishes.

The service is open to all. Light refreshments will be served following the service. For further information, email stepheninfo@londonderryumc.org.
