The carnival is in town

DERRY — There's more to the carnival than rides, fairway food and games of chance.

Merlin the Camel is in temporary residence at the Fiesta Shows carnival, in town through Sunday.

The petting zoo has the usual inhabitants, but Merlin is a special guest.

Of course, there are also plenty of rides — the Arctic Blast, Freakout, bungee jump and more — and plenty of games to test guests' skill for a chance of winning a prize. There also are magic shows.

The carnival is at the former flea market site, at the corner of Route 28 and Island Pond Road.

The carnival opens at 6 p.m. during the week, at noon Saturday and Sunday.

Visit for ride discounts, also available at area merchants.
