Derry Public Library hosts a tea party

Library hosts 'Wonderland' tea party

DERRY — As summer begins its descent, young readers are still enjoying a long list of warm weather activities and special events at local libraries.

Derry Public Library continued its summer reading schedule last week with the “Enter the Rabbit Hole: Alice in Wonderland Mad Tea Party.” It offered children a chance to dress up as their favorite Alice in Wonderland characters, and enjoy an afternoon of games, snacks and even a game of flamingo croquet.

Prizes were awarded for best costumes showing some of the most famous characters from the Alice in Wonderland story.

The program was part of the library’s summer reading schedule of events.

Upcoming events include an end-of-summer party on Aug. 8 at 1:30 p.m. featuring a puppet show, ice cream, stories and crafts.
