Leach Library hosts show featuring 'critters'

Leach Library showcases critter collection

LONDONDERRY — One little boy held his nose to avoid smelling a ferret. Another got as close as he could to a turtle.

Children and their families got an up-close look at some very interesting animals during Leach Library’s recent “Critters and Creatures” presentation.

Animal expert Mona Headen brought her live animal show to the library to teach children about different types of turtles, furry ferrets, snakes and other species native to this area and from around the world.

Headen’s animal shows are very popular around New England. The Merrimack-based animal shows make appearances on a regular basis at libraries, Scout meetings, community events, schools and for private parties.

Her collection includes hedgehogs, snakes, turtles, birds, alligators and many other smaller animals perfect for children’s shows.

Londonderry children got to see a ferret, snake, tortoise and other animals as part of the Leach Library presentation.
