Fourth Annual Monster Mud Run, check for start time at Loon Mountain Resort, 60 Loon Mountain Road, Lincoln. The filthy 5K will test competitors with more than 20 obstacles. This year’s race will also feature a free Mini Monsters race for kids, with pint-sized obstacles for children under 14. Following the race, competitors will enjoy an afternoon of live music, lawn games, and a barbecue. An awards ceremony will also follow the race, with prizes going to top individuals and teams. Free Dental Appointments for ages 3 to 18, are being offered in Cheshire County as part of the annual “Give Kids a Smile” program. They will then be paired with a local dentist where they can schedule an appointment. This local program is available for Cheshire County residents only and parents must accompany their children during their dental visit. Local dentists and hygienists are offering their services through a partnership of the Dental Public Health Task Force and the Monadnock Dental Society. “Give Kids a Smile” is a national event started more than 10 years ago by the American Dental Association to serve children from low-income families across the country.

The Cooperative Alliance for Regional Transportation, known as CART, is a curb-to-curb transportation system serving the communities of Chester, Danville, Derry, Londonderry, Plaistow, Salem, Windham and Hampstead for those needing a ride for medical visits, shopping or social visits. CART services are available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $2 per one-way ride. Reservations can be made during regular business hours by calling 434-3569. Reservations must be made several days in advance, but no more than 14 days in advance.
