‘Jewish Women Today’ free talk

DERRY — “Jewish Women Today” is the topic of a free talk by Dr. Sarah Finne-Sandler at Etz Hayim Synagogue Thursday, May 29, from 7 to 8 p.m.

As the mother of three Jewish daughters, two of whom are now adults, with one on the verge of marriage, Finne-Sandler will share some personal insights about today’s rapidly evolving role of Jewish women. She is the president of Etz Hayim Synagogue.

Refreshments will be served. No registration is required. This is part of a series, “Key Issues in Contemporary Judaism.”

Free meals continue in June

DERRY —Area churches host free meals as part of a community free meals network.

Upcoming meals are June 1, 9 to 10 a.m., breakfast at Church of the Transfiguration; June 1, noon to 1 p.m., lunch at Seventh Day Adventist; June 8, noon to 1 p.m., lunch at Seventh Day Adventist; June 8, 5 to 6:30 p.m., dinner served at Church of the Transfiguration.

Church hosts yard sale on June 7

DERRY — Church of the Transfiguration, 1 Hood Road, hosts a yard sale on Saturday, June 7, at 1 p.m.
