Derry News

---- — DERRY — It was a sampler that had something for everyone.

Derry Parks and Recreation hosted its “Super Summer Sampler” May 16, giving the community a chance to get information on summer programs, sports, clubs, camps and other activities all in one easy location.

More than 20 community organizations were represented at the “Sampler” event, including the Red Star Twirlers, Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, Create-Your-Own-Camp at the Derry school district, Derry Boys and Girls Club, Salvation Army, local libraries and Wolverine Football.

In addition to all the information available, families enjoyed carnival-style games and live demonstrations.

Families also had the chance to register their children for summer programs.

Registration is now underway for town recreation programs, swimming lessons, and sports camps. Hood Park will once again offer a full summer schedule of events and Don Ball Park off Humphrey Road will have its popular Splash Pad open once summer temperatures arrive.
