Day of Prayer planned May 1

LONDONDERRY — Orchard Christian Fellowship observes the National Day of Prayer May 1 from 7 to 8 a.m. and again from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the church, 136 Pillsbury Road.

The day is set aside for prayer for the nation, its town and leaders.

St. Luke’s supports pantry

DERRY — St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 63 East Broadway, regularly supports the First Baptist Church food pantry in Derry with weekly donations collected at regular worship services.

The church recently took 13 bags of food and toiletries to the panty.

The food pantry helped 139 households during the month of March. Right now, items needed are peanut butter, tuna, canned meat and beans. The pantry also accepts cleaning supplies and paper products.

Join Neighbors Helping Newborns

KINGSTON — The group Neighbors Helping Newborns plans a baby shower May 28 at the Kingston Congregational Church, 6 Church St., Kingston. This is a good way to honor mothers and support the needs of babies and their families.

The group is in need of clothing for both boys and girls, sleepers, blankets, quilts and other items.
