Derry Public Library hosts Diggin' Critters show

Animals from armadillos to woodchucks visit Derry

DERRY — These critters really dig the library.

A special program, “Diggin’ Critters,” was held at Derry Public Library on July 9, featuring the Creature Teachers and their animal ambassadors who love to dig.

The program was co-sponsored with Taylor Library. It was part of the libraries’ summer reading program schedule of special events.

From an armadillo to a skunk, woodchucks, lizards and even a tarantula, the Creature Teachers offered an up-close look at some animals who love to dig in the dirt and burrow in the soil.

The “Diggin’ Critters” show kept with the summer reading program’s 2013 theme of “Dig Into Reading.”

Both Taylor and Derry Public libraries host a full summer schedule of story times, craft events, and special activities.

Call Derry Public Library at 432-6140 or Taylor Library at 432-7186 for information on the summer reading schedules.
