LONDONDERRY — One of the music world's most diligent entertainers returns to the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry this week.
The Jon Pousette-Dart Band performs at the 2 Young Road music hall on May 25 at 8 p.m.
A veteran of the industry, the legendary singer/songwriter may be best known to some for his band, the Pousette-Dart Band in the 1970s.
The group was a favorite on tours, and on the college circuit.
Now, Pousette-Dart has found a niche in the decades since that early success, putting out new solo music, and touring extensively with a well-rounded circle of good friends and longtime band mates.
Pousette-Dart's new CD is "Anti-Gravity," the newest in a long list of albums created through the years.
The musician said he has never lost his drive or passion for what he does.
"To me, the real barometer of success is when you can connect with someone, no matter where they're from, no matter what their background," he said in written statement. "The thing I'm most concerned with as a musician is to be timeless and real, and to tell stories that reflect ideals that don't just go and change with the moment. That's the job as I know it."
He has worked with some of the top names in the business, including Peter Frampton, James Taylor, Journey, Billy Joel, The Byrds, Bonnie Raitt and Yes.
Tickets for the Jon Pousette-Dart Band concert are $30 and available by calling the Tupelo Music Hall at 437-5100 or visit tupelohall.com.
