DERRY — The Red Star Twirlers take to the red carpet and offer a summer production full of award-winning songs and baton routines.
The Twirlers present their annual production Sunday, June 29, at 2 p.m. at the Stockbridge Theatre at Pinkerton Academy.
This is the 38th annual summer production by the baton twirlers.
This year’s show features routines put to Oscar and Tony Award-winning songs including “Let it Go,” “Happy,” and music from top movies like “Chariots of Fire.”
The cast for the upcoming show features twirlers ages 4 up to 26, representing Derry, Londonderry, Manchester, Nashua, Newport, Salem, Windham and towns in Massachusetts.
Several featured twirlers have earned national titles.
National champion Emily Cowette, 10, of Londonderry is the 2013 Intermediate Juvenile Miss Majorette of America. Bella Bolduc and Danielle Cherry of Newport, and with Derry’s Emma Convey all hold national titles and will participate in the summer showcase.
Several Red Star college twirlers will also put their talents on the Stockbridge stage, including Jackie Peaslee and Kaleigh McIver, both of Derry.
The show also features the introduction of the 2014 Miss Majorettes of New Hampshire.
Tickets for the Red Star Twirlers show are $25 for adults, $15 for those under 18 or over 65.
