Artists auction off work to help local chef

LONDONDERRY — There will be a benefit silent art auction and raffle at Coffeeberries in the Apple Tree Mall, 4 Orchard View Drive, April 8-30.

The event, hosted by local artist Debbie Curtin, is part of Cook Up A Cure 4 Brian to support local chef Brian Winer in his battle with cancer.

Proceeds will go to the nonprofit Chef Brian Winer Cancer Fund.

There will be a reception Saturday, April 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Winer is a cancer survivor, now battling brain and lung cancer.

Last year, more than $5,700 was raised during a raffle and 5K event on the Town Commons. In November, The Mistress and Her Tinkerman Salon held an open house/benefit to support Winer, raising about $800.

In this latest effort, artists will donate the proceeds of the auction and raffle to support Winer. Coffeeberries owner Christine Addie not only is giving the artists display space, but also is putting together some baskets to be raffled.
