Christian Science celebrates 100 years
DERRY — The First Church of Christ Scientist in Derry celebrates its centennial year with a special service on Nov. 10 at the church, 1 Boyd Road.
The service is set for 2 p.m. and features guest speaker David Hohle of Chicago, who will offer thoughts on the Christian Science spiritual approach to life.
New Hampshire native Mary Baker Eddy founded the church in 1886.
Derry’s Christian Science church began in the former Knights of Pythias Hall on Broadway. The Derry church was officially established in 1913.
Derry’s celebration will feature many families who attend the church, including Vincent Ferdinando, president of J&F Farms in Derry, who will introduce Hohle.

Join the Missions banquet Sunday
DERRY — On Sunday, Nov. 10, there will be a Missions banquet at Central Congregational Church, 14 Crescent Road, starting at 11:15 a.m.
Speakers associated with Teen Challenge, Food For Children and other local ministries will share their work in the New England area. In addition, a hearty lunch will be served during this time.
The public is invited to the banquet and to services at 10 a.m.
Thanksgiving interfaith service set
DERRY — The Derry Interfaith Campus hosts its annual interfaith Thanksgiving service on Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at Etz Hayim Synagogue on Hood Road.
The Rev. Ray Bonin will deliver the message. A light reception will follow.

Celebrate a Family Christmas
DERRY — All are invited to a free family Christmas celebration hosted by Calvary Bible Church on Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be games, crafts, snacks and a scavenger hunt.
Parents and guardians will need to stay with their children and enjoy the celebration together. Calvary Bible Church is at 145 Hampstead Road.

Enjoy Best Breakfast Sunday
EAST DERRY — First Parish Church in East Derry hosts its weekly Best Breakfast every Sunday from 7 to 9 a.m.
The cost is $6.50 for adults, $5.50 for children 12 and under, $5.50 for seniors over 62.
The menu includes eggs, omelets, bacon, pancakes, French toast, hash browns, cereal and beverages.
