Swing Band makes Londonderry stop

Windham band performs in concert in Londonderry

---- — LONDONDERRY — The Windham Swing Band will make a stop in Londonderry for a concert at Whippersnappers.

The concert is set for Nov. 17 from 6 to 10 p.m. The band has appeared at the Londonderry venue before.

The 18-piece band is under the direction of Rob Daisy and plays dance music and standards from the Big Band Era up through present day.

The Swing Band is part of the larger Windham Community Band organization, including the flute ensemble and concert band. The Swing Band started in 1998 and appears in concerts all over the region.

Tickets for the Whippersnappers show are $10 per person for music and dancing, or $25 per person that includes dinner. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling 434-2660.

Upcoming performances include the Windham Concert Band appearing in the Derry Holiday Parade on Nov. 30 and the Windham tree lighting on Dec. 7.

All three groups — concert band, flute ensemble and swing group — will perform at the Windham Community Bands’ annual holiday concert on Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. at Windham High School.
