---- — DERRY — The Upper Village Hall in East Derry will open its historic doors for a night of music and drums.
The hall hosts the Tara Greenblatt Band on Nov. 2. Doors open at 6 p.m. at 52 East Derry Road.
Greenblatt and company will be offering music from her recent CD, “Animal Body.” CDs will be available for purchase.
The band features songs and lush harmonies on strings, drums and other instruments. The concert also features other special musical guests including Jeff Davison on piano, Sarah Young on violin, plus appearances by locals Wendy and Dylan Wetherbee and Kate Baker.
Greenblatt has performed all over New England and is well-known for her percussion talents on the djembe.
Opening for Tara Greenblatt is Chloe Carlston, a local 18-year-old songwriter/singer, bringing her original sounds on the ukelele.
There will be at $5 cover charge for the show.
The concert is part of the hall’s efforts to bring entertainment and special events to the building, undergoing a major restoration effort under the guidance of the East Derry Village Improvement Society and through the support of local businesses and organizations.
