Londonderry church has guest speaker Dec. 30

LONDONDERRY — Lon–donderry Presbyterian Church will host the Rev. Milton Thomas on Dec. 30 at 10:30 a.m.

Thomas, a 40-year resident of Nashua, was born Boston and raised in Roxbury. In his youth, he was a member of Twelfth Baptist Church.

He attended Lowell University for engineering and later completed his undergraduate degree at Boston University.

He put his degree to use in his own business during the 1980s and early 1990s. He owned and operated the first African-American manufacturer’s representative firm that engaged in the sales and marketing of high-tech electronic test instrumentation.

In the late 1980s, he answered his call to the ministry. He graduated in 1993 from Boston University’s School of Theology with honors in the Masters of Divinity degree program. He completed course work and language requirements for a Doctorate of Theology degree at Boston University in Systematic Theology and Psychology of Religion. In 2000, he received another master’s degree in Sacred Theology from the same institution.

He served as pastor of Third Baptist Church in Lawrence for seven years. In 2000, he became the founding pastor of New Life Christian Ministries, a multi-cultural body of believers in Lowell.

He also is the Director of Religious Services and Protestant Chaplain for the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.
