Hood park hosts animal show

DERRY — Spending a summer afternoon getting up close and personal with some native New Hampshire wildlife was just the thing for local families.

As part of the Hood Park summer program, representatives from the Squam Lake Science Center came to the park June 27 to share information and facts about some of the state's most beloved creatures.

The event was part of the park's summer theme week, "Around the Campfire."

Some of the animals in attendance included a turtle and a great horned owl.

The event was part of Derry Parks and Recreation's schedule of summer events for children and families.
