Londonderry High offers 10th Prism show

LHS students shine in Prism performances

LONDONDERRY — High school students were in the spotlight Saturday night.

The 10th annual Prism concert drew a crowd to the Londonderry High School cafeteria. Multiple stages were set up for the multi-faceted continuum of instrumental and vocal sounds presented by students.

Students had to audition to be part of the lineup with about 20 acts taking the stage this year.

Three stages were set up with the audience sitting at round tables in the center of the room to get the full experience.

Once the show began, spotlights would shine on one act, then the next, then another. Everything was timed precisely so student singers and musicians performed within minutes of each other, ensuring almost continuous entertainment.

The audience was seated very close to the stages to be able to see the young entertainers up close as they performed dance, song, instrumentals and original acts.

Many students wrote and sang their own songs.

Londonderry High School music teachers Serge Beaulieu and Danielle Loschiavo help organize Prism every year. Beaulieu said Prism is the most anticipated musical event at the high school.

It’s so popular that there were three show times last weekend, and mostly sell-out crowds.
