---- — It’s almost time for Trunk or Treat

DERRY — On Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., Trinity Assembly of God will host its annual Trunk or Treat Festival. It’s a safe, fun, family-oriented environment where children and their families can come in costumes, play games, go on a hay ride, eat and, at the end, the children go from trunk to trunk and gather candy. Everything is free. the church is at 53 North Main St. Families from the community can come with a decorated trunk with candy, but must register their car. Call 434-0408.

Get ready for a hoedown in Chester

CHESTER — Chester Congregational and Baptist Church will host a hoedown on Friday, Oct. 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Stevens Memorial Hall located at 1 Chester St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. There’ll be a fiddler and a caller for old-fashioned barn dances. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased through the church office. Office hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased Sunday mornings at the church.
