---- — DERRY — The Southern N.H. Dance Youth Ballet presents the third annual N.H. Choreographer’s Showcase March 15 at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Stockbridge Theatre at Pinkerton Academy.
Performances are a unique collaboration of 18 choreographers and eight area dance companies, showcasing New Hampshire’s dance at its best.
Featured dance companies this year include Ballet Misha of Manchester, City Center Ballet of Lebanon, Sundance from Windham, FreeFall Contemporary Dance Company of Bedford, Northern Ballet Theatre Youth Ensemble of Nashua, Peterborough Dance Theatre of Peterborough, Saving Grace Dance Ensemble of Milford and Southern N.H. Youth Ballet of Bedford.
This year’s showcase is an even larger collection of dance companies, choreographers and dancers who have come together to display their talents. From classical ballet to tap to theater dance and modern/contemporary dance — these performances will feature a wide array of genres from artists of local and national reputations.
Shows include original works staged by various choreographers.
“I am excited to see the showcase grow into an even larger event this year, displaying some of New Hampshire’s most talented dancers and choreographers,” said Patricia Lavoie, artistic director for Southern N.H. Youth Ballet and founder and producer of the showcase. “The real stars on stage here are the works themselves and the choreographers that have crafted them.”
Tickets are available in advance for $15 at snhdt.org or $20 at the door.
