Celtic concert comes to Pinkerton Academy

DERRY — Danú, one of the word’s leading traditional Irish ensembles, performs in Derry just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

The band takes the stage at Pinkerton Academy’s Stockbridge Theatre March 11 at 7 p.m.

The group hails from Ireland’s historic County Waterford. The performance includes traditional songs played on the flute, tin whistle, button accordion and bouzoki, along with the group’s singers.

They have performed around the world for more than a decade and have recorded numerous albums.

Opening for Danu in Derry are Boston-based musicians Matt and Shannon Heaton.
