DERRY — Frost Festival organizers were happy to see the snow fall.
The fresh snow was well timed for the annual Frost Festival last weekend.
Families enjoyed sledding, ice sculptures and a bonfire at Alexander-Carr Park. Derry Pathfinders offered free snowmobile rides at Hoodkroft Golf Course. At Gallien’s Beach, there was ice fishing, hockey demonstrations and a chili contest.
This was the first year in many that all outdoor winter activities had just the right amount of snow and nothing had to be canceled.
Ice sculpture artists from IceBreakers created frozen art at Alexander-Carr Park. The results will remain on display until they melt.
