Sixth annual Toy Swap/Sale will be held at the Matthew Thornton School gym. Registration is from 7:30 to 9 a.m., and the sale is from 9:30 to noon. This is a great opportunity to sell children's and babies' items that are no longer being used but that are still in good shape. It is a consignment sale where the owner sets the price and the Women's Club sells the items. The owner receives two-thirds of the money for which items sell, and the Women's Club keeps the remaining one-third. This year's Toy Swap benefits Project P.L.A.Y. (Playground for Londonderry's Active Youth). Registration forms with complete instructions can be found at the Leach Library and the Londonderry YMCA and must be completed to participate.
Annual food drive hosted by the National Association of Letter Carriers. Place nonperishable donations in a bag by the mailbox and letter carriers will pick up the food and take it to a local food bank. This is the 15th year for the food drive, and donations collected in Derry and Londonderry will stay in the local area.

The Rotary Club of Greater Salem is soliciting applicants for its annual community service scholarships. Two scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded to graduating seniors who reside in the towns of Salem, Windham, Pelham, Atkinson, Hampstead, Derry and Methuen, Mass. The two scholarships will be given to the students who have been involved in community service and best exemplify Rotary commitment to service above self. Foxwoods bus trips, the Vic Geary drop-in center in Plaistow will be sponsoring monthly trips to Foxwoods Casino on a large coach bus every second Monday of the month. The bus will leave at 7 a.m. from the Vic Geary Center. the return trip will leave Foxwoods around 4 p.m. The cost of the trip is $32, which will include free bingo games on the ride to Foxwoods, a movie with snacks on the return, Foxwoods coupons for two, $10 keno play and a $10 food or full buffet coupon. The town of Hampstead has partnered with Got Books to place a drop-off donation and reuse container for residents, nonresidents, businesses, schools, libraries and other groups who wish to contribute books they no longer have a use for. The bin will also accept CDs, DVDs, videos and audio books. The Got Books donation container is at the Hampstead Highway Department, 35 Stage Road. Leddy Center School for the Performing Arts to offer Vijaya Yoga sessions. The Cooperative Alliance for Regional Transportation, known as CART, is a curb-to-curb transportation system serving the communities of Chester, Danville, Derry, Londonderry, Plaistow, Salem, Windham and Hampstead for those needing a ride. Transportation can be used for medical visits, shopping or social visits. CART services are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $2 per one-way ride. Reservations can be made during regular business hours by calling 434-3569. Reservations must be made several days in advance, but no more than 14 days in advance.
