Vacation Bible School

Registration has begun for Vacation Bible School at Island Pond Baptist Church in Hampstead, for June 23-27. This year's Hawaiian-themed Outrigger Island will teach children to talk about God's truth and to live it out in the unpredictable seas of their lives. Outrigger Island is open to children who turned 4 by September 2007 through those who have completed sixth grade. Kids will "island hop" among Beach Hut Bible Studies, Crafts Cabana, The Snack Shack, Outrigger Recreation, Missions Outlook Point, The Music Lagoon and Worship Waterfalls between 9 a.m. and noon each day. Kids in third through sixth grade may continue their island adventure during the Outer Island afternoon activities, Monday through Thursday including lunch, music/drama and sports, noon to 2 p.m. Family Beach Night will be held Thursday evening, June 26. American chop suey supper

American chop suey supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, April 19, at the East Hampstead Union Church located at 225 E. Main St. (Route 121A) just south of Route 111. The menu will feature two types of American chop suey (pasta, tomatoes, ground beef), salad, rolls, assorted desserts, and beverages. Cost for the meal is $6 for adults, $3 for children under 12, no charge for preschoolers. Chair-lift accessible. Take-out meals are available. Musical program

Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Classical music on Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m. Features Chris Ganter and Aubrie Dionne playing flute with harpsichord and organ. Rummage sale

Rummage sale at Hampton's First Congregational Church, 127 Winnacunnet Road on Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. All-day cafe serves an array of tasty treats for adults and kids alike. Mother's Day and Treasures areas offer unusual and delightful gifts, while the Garden Party and Cooks' Corner now encompass The Potting Shed. Held in Fellowship Hall, rain or shine.

Monthly couples tune-up

Workshop on depression

Institute for Christian Renewal and New Creation Healing Center, both in Plaistow, are co-sponsoring a workshop called "Depression: Hope for Healing" on Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Haverhill Alliance Church, 284 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill. The workshop is designed for individuals suffering from depression and for those who love and care for those who are depressed. Jacob Brothers concert

The Jacobs Brothers of Dillsburg, Pa., will appear at Windham Bible Chapel at 14 Cobbetts Pond Road in Windham on Saturday, April 19, at 6 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. Help those in need

New Creation Healing Center, 148 Plaistow Road (Route 125), Plaistow, is a collection drop-off spot for two items that help those in need. First, and in conjunction with the Lions Clubs International, New Creation accepts and passes on good quality, but no longer needed, eyeglasses. In conjunction with the Plaistow Food Bank, New Creation accepts nonperishable foodstuffs. For further information, call 382-7391.

Family Camp

A Family Camp is offered for families with children ages of 4 to 6. The camp teaches families about Jewish heritage, history and culture. Scheduled dates and themes include Passover on April 13 and a tentative visit from Shaliach (Carmel) on May 4. Etz Hayim Synagogue meets at the Church of the Transfiguration, 1 Hood Road, Derry. Prayer appointments

New Creation Healing Center offers half-hour prayer appointments between 1 and 3 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. On the third Thursday of every month, a chapel service is also held for staff, patients, clients and the public. They take place from 12:15 to 12:50 p.m. on the second floor of New Creation's offices. Includes singing, prayer and a biblical message from an area pastor. The center is a drop-off place for nonperishable foods to aid the area food pantry. Items may be dropped off Monday through Friday during the day and the first and third Saturday mornings of the month. New Creation Healing Center is a drop-off location for no-longer-needed eyeglasses for the Lions Club Eyeglasses Project. The nonprofit regional wellness facility is at 148 Plaistow Road, Plaistow. Godtube

Rockingham Church and St. Matthew's Methodist Church have been coordinating and putting together short videos highlighting the previous week's worship service and posting it on Godtube. The Rock offers Promiseland, the children's program for ages 4-6, immediately before the 10 a.m. worship service. It is a time for children and youth to learn to apply biblical values to their daily lives. The Rockingham Church is currently meeting at Sawyers Banquet Facility on Route 125 in Plaistow as they look forward to the construction of their own church building on Route 108 in Plaistow. Church ministries

First Baptist Church of Salem offers a variety of family and individual ministries during the week. Youth groups meet on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. Family Night is held on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Family Night begins with a free meal at 6 and classes for all ages from 7 to 8. The church is at 101 School St. in Salem. Bible study

Tuesday night informal, nondenominational Bible study at the home of Dr. Mary Pearson and the Rev. Canon Mark Pearson. They are currently leading a study on "David — A Man After God's Own Heart," applying the story of King David to our lives today. Healing Center

New Creation Healing Center in Plaistow, a whole-person wellness center combining family practice medicine, massage, counseling, chaplaincy and prayer ministry, has a monthly chapel service to which patients, clients and the public are invited. "Chapel" is a nondenominational service with a teaching message brought by an area pastor or leader of a ministry. Always on the third Thursday and runs from 12:15 to 12:50 p.m. on the second floor of New Creation's building, 148 Plaistow Road, Plaistow. For information, call 382-7391.

Food Pantry

First Baptist Church Community Food Pantry will remain open during the construction at the church site and has moved to 4 Crystal Ave., next to the old location. Hours are Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon, as well as the first and last Thursday of the month from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Call 421-1897. Kid's Klub

Ministries

Island Pond Baptist Church offers several ministries. Men's ministry is held every Thursday at 6:45 p.m., women's ministry groups meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., and the Morning Light Bible study meets on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. Child care is provided during Morning Light. Higher Standard youth group meets on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. The church is at 26 N. Salem Road in Hampstead. Christian Healing

Trinity Charismatic Episcopal Church in conjunction with New Creation Healing Center, will have services of Christian Healing on the first Sunday of every month at 2 p.m. Christian Healing services consist of worship with hymns, prayers and a teaching from the Bible applied to daily life. Trinity Church will offer two Bible studies each week. One is Tuesday nights from 7 to 8:30 at the Pearson home, 23 Faith Drive (off East Road), Hampstead. The subject for the next several weeks will be "King David, A Man After God's Heart." Call evenings, 329-7341. The other is Sunday nights at 6 at the Isbister home, 23 Scott Lane, Sandown. Overcomers, a Christian program based on Alcoholics Anonymous, is held Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A women's Bible study is held at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays at the home of Ronnie Isbister, 23 Scott Lane in Sandown. Prayer meetings

St. Thomas Aquinas offers the Children of Mary Prayer Group. Meetings are on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the church. Wednesday staff prayer meetings are held at noon. Charismatic Prayer Meetings are held on Mondays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Knitting a Tighter Community meets on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Baby items such as diaper bags, size 2 and 3 diapers (small packages), bottles, baby wipes, onesies and sleepers are needed for the Baby Outreach Program. Bring any donations to the friary office.
